(PRESS RELEASE) SEOUL, 2025-May-9 — /Travel PR News/ — Korean Air recently hosted its annual Family Day event from May 2 to 6, welcoming more than 20,000 employees and their families at its hangars in Seoul and Busan. This year’s Family Day held special significance as it was the first joint family event following Korean Air’s acquisition of Asiana Airlines.

Launched in 2019, Family Day offers employees’ families a unique glimpse into the airline’s operations while providing opportunities for family-friendly activities. After a hiatus during the pandemic, the event resumed in 2023 and has since seen an increase in both participation and scale.

For 2025, Korean Air extended the event’s duration by two days and expanded its reach by opening the Busan Tech Center hangar to complement the Seoul headquarters. In addition to welcoming employees and their families from Korean Air, this year’s event also invited Asiana Airlines employees, creating a space for connection and shared experiences as the two airlines continue to unite under one banner.

The hangars were transformed into lively theme parks featuring various attractions such as children’s rides, a family photo studio, themed photo booths inspired by the Morning Calm Club, balloon art, face painting, food trucks, and a kiosk for creating personalized family staff badges.

Interactive exhibits showcased Korean Air’s updated corporate identity, new cabin and flight crew uniforms, and a joint venture booth with Delta Air Lines. Special team-building activities were designed to promote camaraderie between employees from both Korean Air and Asiana Airlines.

A standout feature of the event was the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) exhibition, where mock-ups of Korean Air’s advanced UAV models were displayed, including the high-performance strategic MALE UAV (KUS-FS), the fully autonomous fixed-wing tactical UAV (KUS-FT), next-generation stealth UAV (KUS-FC), loyal wingman (KUS-LW), and hybrid drones (KUS-HD). Additionally, scaled models of the KUS-SID inspection drone and the KUS-VS vertical takeoff UAV were presented. The Airbus A220-300, used for short- and medium-haul routes, was also on display.

The Busan Tech Center portion of the event featured Korean Air’s cutting-edge aerospace technology, with full-size models of the KUS-FS and various military aircraft and helicopters maintained by the airline. Visitors participated in engaging activities like drone basketball, hand glider crafting, outdoor games, and drone prize giveaways.

“This year’s Family Day was designed to provide a memorable experience for families while fostering a deeper understanding of our workplace culture,” said a representative from Korean Air. “By offering programs like these, we aim to strengthen the bond between Korean Air and Asiana Airlines employees and continue fostering a family-friendly and inclusive workplace environment.”

Korean Air also runs various year-round initiatives for employees and their families, including parent invitation events, Children’s Day and Christmas gift vouchers, college prep sessions for teenagers, and family visit days for cabin crew, alongside special airline tickets for parents.
