Jersey, 2014-1-8 — /travelprnews.com/ — St Catherine’s to the Jersey Accommodation and Activity Centre (Haute de La Garenne)
The Annual Balls of Steel race is hotting up reaching the maximum field size of 120 entrants. Defending Champion and three times winner Tim Rogers is looking forward to the event with hot competition from the likes of Bryce Alford, Daniel Robinson, Derek Smyth and Mark Nichol. Defending Ladies team winners “Fiteez” have again fielded two teams and face a strong challenge from the Jersey Ladies Rugby team lead by Katie Da Silva. The 2013 ladies individual winner will not be defending her title so the race will definitely have a new ladies champion.
The age range varies from our youngest competitor Bradley Rose to eldest competitor who is 72 year old lady.
This year’s course length has been increased after feed back from last year’s runners and with more obstacles through sponsorship, the course will be more demanding. The runners “favourite” water dunk sponsored by H&V plumbing and Heating will again be part of the course, along with the Jersey Field squadrons cargo net, Jersey Skydives 6ft wall, Geo Marines truck challenge, The Airtech “stinger” and the FX Fitness tyre pulley. The regular tyre lifts and log carries will again feature in the course as well as the dreaded hill climbs.
Participants are expected to raise sponsorship for two fantastic charities again this year, those being The Grace Crocker Family Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Research Trust. The organisers Jersey Adventures are seeking marshals for this event and should anybody like to help they should contact John Fox or Bryce Alford 07797727503 or email john@jerseyadventures.com
