(PRESS RELEASE) MADRID, 2025-Apr-1 — /Travel PR News/ — Iberia has unveiled its flight lineup for the upcoming winter season, focusing on its short and medium-haul routes across Europe. The airline is reinforcing its commitment to a robust and consistent winter schedule, building on last year’s expansions by boosting capacity in three key markets. Notably, the destinations of Rovaniemi, Innsbruck, and Tromso are set to see the most significant growth within Iberia’s entire network of short and medium-haul offerings. Rovaniemi marks its third consecutive year as a winter destination, while Innsbruck and Tromso return for their second year of service.

In Italy, Iberia connects travelers to ten cities—Rome, Milan, Venice, Florence, Bologna, Naples, Turin, Catania, Olbia, and Palermo—with seven of these routes available year-round. To celebrate the 2025 Jubilee in Rome, the airline is ramping up its winter service to 44 weekly flights, an increase of two from last year, offering a total of 380,000 seats for the season.

France remains Iberia’s top market for flight frequency, with over 180 weekly flights linking Spain and various French cities, including Paris, Bordeaux, Strasbourg, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice, and Toulouse. Paris stands out with up to 11 daily flights, creating a seamless connection between the two capitals. This winter, Iberia will operate 52 weekly flights to Orly Airport (up by two from last year) and 21 to Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Austria emerges as the third major growth area in Europe for Iberia this winter, with enhanced services to Vienna and Innsbruck. The Madrid-Vienna route will feature 23 weekly flights, an increase of two over 2024, providing 180,000 seats. Meanwhile, Iberia will resume direct flights to Innsbruck for the second year, running from December 21, 2025, to April 5, 2026, with two weekly flights on A320neo aircraft, each accommodating 186 passengers.

Rovaniemi and Tromso: Winter Wonders
The allure of snow and the Northern Lights continues to draw travelers to Iberia’s winter destinations. For the third straight year, the airline will offer non-stop flights to Rovaniemi, the heart of Lapland and Santa Claus’s official hometown. This route kicks off on December 3, 2025, and runs through February 28, 2026, serviced by A320neo aircraft. Similarly, Tromso—a Norwegian gem known for Northern Lights viewing, fjord adventures, and tobogganing—returns for its second winter season. Flights begin December 3, 2025, and continue until March 1, 2026, with two weekly frequencies.
