Each meeting room takes its name from a natural sky phenomenon — Kaikuu (Echo), Sumu (Fog), Pilke (Twinkle), Pouta (Fair Weather), Kajo (Glimmer), and Loimu (Glow) — reflecting Finland’s deep connection to its environment. The interiors feature textures and tones inspired by lakes in summer, autumn rainfall, and snow-covered winter landscapes. All furniture and surface materials have been sourced from Finnish manufacturers, with upholstery fabrics from Annala’s weaving mill in Lapua, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities.
The facilities, designed by Interior Architect SIO Sisse Collander, cater to a range of purposes, enabling guests to work, meet, or unwind without leaving the airport. In line with this approach, Helsinki Airport’s prestigious VIP President lounge — serving visiting state dignitaries since 1997 — also underwent a recent redesign in the spring.
