Introducing anew cocktail menu at Lobby Bar and Lounge inspired by the colourful world of Spice Market.
Istanbul at the Bosphorus, Turkey, 2012-09-21 — /travelprnews.com/ — Set in the historical peninsula, Spice Market (also known as The Egyptian Bazaar) is still among the favourite stops of gourmet travellers as well as locals with its rich variety of spices, herbs, dried fruits and more. It continues to mesmerize visitors with fascinating scents and colours. Inspired by this colourful and lively world of Spice Market and the picturesque scenery of Istanbul in autumn, the food and beverage team at Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus has created a new menu that will blow one’s mind and taste buds.
After detailed experimentation and numerous trials, trendsetting drink makers at the Lobby Bar and Lounge came up with a charming selection of infusions and cocktails, mixing the spices with appropriate liquors. Spices, herbs and fruits assisted in presenting traditional and creative concoctions. Talented mixologists used scents, textures and aromas to infuse the bar’s inventory.
Spices used in the new menu vary from cinnamon to ginger, from saffron to chili pepper including the most traditional ones. Not only the ingredients but also the names have a tempting appeal with an Ottoman influence, such as Ahmer (meaning scarlet) symbolizing endless energy, reflected by the red colour; Enhar (meaning river) referring to the smooth flow of life; and Bazar (bazaar) showing the richness of ingredients in that particular cocktail. There are a total of nine unique spiced cocktails in the menu with characteristic names reflecting the sensation one would get after drinking it, such as freshness, happiness, liveliness etc.
Not only the Spice Market themed cocktails but also the infusions are among the best examples in the town. The unconventional infusions created by Four Seasons mixologists add a surprising twist to the new menu. The infusion process takes anywhere from one to ten days. Some of their favourite infusers include lime, lemongrass, basil, rosemary, mint, ginger, strawberry and clove. Saffron Infused Vodka Martini, Rosemary & Cucumber Infused Gin Martini, Strawberry Infused Vodka Martini, Tomato & Basil Infused Vodka Martini and eight other varieties ensure that one will drink something delicious.
The new menu is available at Lobby Bar and Lounge as of September 21, 2012 at Four Seasons Hotel Istanbul at the Bosphorus. For reservations: 00 90 212 381 4000
