(NEWS) COLOGNE/BONN, 2025-Dec-22 — /Travel PR News/ — Eurowings has expanded the rollout of its new Premium BIZ Seat concept by introducing a second Airbus A320neo equipped with the upgraded 2×2 seating configuration, extending the trial beyond the initial Berlin–Dubai test route. The move allows passengers across the airline’s wider European network to experience the premium product for the first time.
Unlike the original market test limited to long-haul leisure traffic between Berlin and Dubai, the second aircraft will operate flexibly across Eurowings’ route network with no fixed route assignment. During a transitional phase, the premium seating will be available at no additional charge on selected flights, although it cannot be booked specifically. The aircraft will also serve as a technical reserve for the ongoing Berlin–Dubai trial.
According to the airline, the broader deployment is intended to gather customer feedback from a wider cross-section of travelers, particularly those flying from key German airports including Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Hamburg, and Stuttgart. The aircraft will primarily operate on high-demand leisure routes, such as services to Mallorca and the Canary Islands, destinations that account for a significant share of Eurowings’ passenger traffic.
The Premium BIZ Seat offers a wider seating layout and increased privacy compared with the airline’s standard configuration, representing a shift in how Eurowings approaches comfort within the value and leisure travel segment. By temporarily waiving any surcharge for the product, the airline is using the expanded trial to evaluate customer acceptance and operational performance under real-world network conditions.
The initiative follows Eurowings’ recognition as Europe’s best low-cost airline in 2025 by Skytrax, and forms part of the carrier’s longer-term efforts to refine its cabin concepts. Insights gathered from both the Berlin–Dubai route and the wider network trial are expected to inform future decisions on premium seating offerings as Eurowings seeks to balance affordability with evolving passenger expectations.
