Emirates Launches Matching Donations Drive to Amplify Global Support for Vulnerable Children

(IN SHORT) Emirates has launched a donation-matching initiative through the Emirates Airline Foundation, pledging to match every contribution up to $10,000 to support 13 grassroots NGOs working with disadvantaged children in nine countries. The initiative aims to strengthen access to food, housing, education, and healthcare, aligning with the UAE’s Year of Community 2025. Projects span India, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya, the Philippines, Brazil, and the UAE, with a strong focus on transparency and direct impact. Donations can be made online, in-flight, or by cheque, with nearly all funds going directly to supported programmes.

(PRESS RELEASE) DUBAI, 2025-Apr-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Emirates is reinforcing its dedication to humanitarian impact with the launch of a new donation-matching campaign through the Emirates Airline Foundation, aiming to double the reach of support for grassroots NGOs working with children across nine countries.

For every dollar or dirham contributed to the Foundation, Emirates will match donations up to USD $10,000, effectively doubling the aid provided to 13 community organisations delivering essential health, nutrition, education, and housing services to disadvantaged youth.

“As humanitarian challenges grow more urgent, ensuring that children receive the support they need is paramount,” said Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline and Chairman of the Foundation. “Through this initiative, we’re scaling up our commitment to transform lives. Each donation helps create a brighter, more secure future for a child.”

This matching campaign aligns with the UAE’s Year of Community 2025, focusing on collective action, empowerment, and long-term sustainability.

Long-Term Impact Across Continents

Highlights include:

In India, CHES Home offers care for HIV-positive children, while IIMPACT empowers 5,000 girls through education centres across 11 states.

In Zimbabwe, St. Marcellin’s Children’s Village provides holistic care to over 50 children, many with disabilities or HIV.

In South Africa, early education and healthcare access are supported through partners like Singakwenza and Fikelela Children’s Centre.

In Kenya, Emirates backs educational scholarships, art therapy programmes, and primary schooling for underserved youth.

In Brazil, projects like Saint Rita de Cassia Orphanage and Externato São Francisco de Assis help nurture and educate underprivileged girls and children from single-parent homes.

In the UAE, SAFE Centre for Autism provides specialised therapies for children with complex learning needs.

Most funding is directly allocated to project costs, with minimal overhead thanks to Emirates staff volunteers and operational support.
