Emirates adds third daily Dubai–Mauritius flight on Boeing 777-300ER, lifting capacity 30% and expanding Air Mauritius codeshare
(IN SHORT) Emirates will launch a third daily Dubai–Mauritius flight on 1 December 2025, using a three-class Boeing 777-300ER (EK709/710), raising capacity on the route by more than 30%. The new service complements two existing daily A380 flights (EK701/702 and EK703/704) and is part of a codeshare with Air Mauritius to ensure seamless connectivity from over 140 destinations, including the Middle East, Europe, the Americas and select Far East markets. EK709 departs Dubai at 06:55 and arrives in Mauritius at 13:40; EK710 leaves at 18:30 and lands in Dubai at 01:10 the next day. Tickets are on sale now through Emirates channels and travel agents. Adnan Kazim thanked Mauritian authorities and noted the added flight supports both leisure and business demand. Since 2002, Emirates has carried 8.8 million passengers and 126,000 tonnes of cargo on the route, contributing USD 119 million directly, USD 264 million in tourism receipts and USD 530 million to the economy, while supporting 3,600 jobs. Emirates operates 14 weekly A380 services with over 15,000 seats, is the only airline flying the A380 and offering First Class to Mauritius, and continues to leverage partnerships with Air Mauritius (since 2003) and MTPA (since 2012) to drive growth.
(PRESS RELEASE) DUBAI, UAE, 2025-Jul-22 — /Travel PR News/ — Emirates is turning up the heat on demand for Mauritius by adding a third daily flight from 1 December, operated by a three-class Boeing 777-300ER (EK709/710). The extra frequency boosts capacity on the high-traffic route by more than 30% and strengthens the airline’s winning partnership with Air Mauritius, which continues to fuel interest in the Indian Ocean hotspot.
Emirates—already serving the island with two daily flagship A380 rotations (EK701/702 and EK703/704)—will now offer even more choice and flexibility for travellers across its 140+ destination network. Under the carriers’ codeshare, the new flight schedule is timed for smooth, one-stop connections from the Middle East, Europe and the Americas, while also opening convenient links from Japan, China, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
Customers can immediately book First Class, Business Class and Economy Class seats on EK709, departing Dubai at 06:55 and touching down in Mauritius at 13:40. The return, EK710, leaves Mauritius at 18:30 and lands in Dubai at 01:10 the following day (all times local). Tickets are available now via emirates.com, the Emirates App, retail stores, contact centres and travel agents.
Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer said: “We would like to thank the Mauritian authorities for making an additional daily service possible. We have been proudly serving Mauritius since 2002 and our double daily A380 services have been a major success and contributor to the growth of the country’s tourism industry. The additional daily service on our wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft will enable a more than 30 percent increase in capacity on the route, while also providing additional flight options for leisure and business travellers to seamlessly connect to flights.”
“We recently reaffirmed our codeshare partnership with Air Mauritius and our shared commitment to putting the destination on the global stage by facilitating steady growth in tourist demand for visits to Mauritius. We are also pleased to support and complement the operations of the national carrier, whose services have contributed to our success on this route. The additional daily service will allow both airlines to meet demand from global travellers.”
Since launching services in 2002, Emirates has flown more than 8.8 million passengers and carried over 126,000 tonnes of cargo between Dubai and Mauritius. Its presence has generated substantial economic value: USD 119 million in direct contribution from flights, USD 264 million in tourism receipts, and USD 530 million injected into the Mauritian economy through tourism spend. The airline’s operations have helped create 3,600 jobs locally, and hundreds of Mauritians now work across Emirates in pilot, cabin crew, engineering, customer service and corporate roles.
Emirates’ longstanding collaboration with Air Mauritius (since 2003) and the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (since 2012) has been central to stimulating demand and showcasing the island’s appeal in key markets. Today, Emirates runs 14 weekly A380 services—more than 15,000 seats every week—and remains the only carrier flying the double-decker to Mauritius, as well as the sole airline offering First Class on the route.
