Hong Kong, 2012-08-01 — /travelprnews.com/ — Dragonair today (Wednesday, 1 August) announced that it will suspend its Taipei flight operations to and from Hong Kong from 6:00 pm today until at least 12:00 noon on 2 August due to the forecasted adverse weather as a result of Typhoon Saola.
The last flight departed Hong Kong to Taipei today was KA486 and the last flight from Taipei was KA487 bound for Hong Kong. Passengers whose flights are cancelled are advised not to go to the airport. Dragonair will assist with alternative arrangements for affected passengers and they are advised to review booking changes and update their contact details for receiving the latest flight status updates via SMS or email in Manage My Booking at dragonair.com.
Flights on 1 and 2 August may be subject to further changes. Passengers are advised to first check the latest flight information on the airline’s website before departing for the airport.
Passengers who are booked on flights to, from or via Taipei departing between the afternoon of 1 August through 3 August are encouraged to either advance or postpone non-essential travel. The airline will waive re-booking and re-routing charges for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) on or before 31 July for travel on Dragonair to, from or via Taipei or Taichung between 1 and 3 August.
Dragonair is closely monitoring the forecasted impact to Taichung operations and will keep passengers informed of any changes made to the flight schedule to/from Taichung through the airline’s website, www.dragonair.com. We will issue further updates once more information becomes available. The airline regrets any inconvenience this may cause and hopes for passengers’ understanding.
