Design-Led Stays Take Center Stage as Canopy by Hilton Enters the Turkish Market

(NEWS) ISTANBUL, Türkiye, 2025-Dec-17 — /Travel PR News/ — Hilton is expanding its lifestyle footprint in Türkiye with the debut of its Canopy by Hilton brand, set to open two new properties this month in Istanbul and Izmir. The move reflects both the group’s broader global growth in lifestyle hospitality and Türkiye’s rising appeal among travellers seeking design-led stays with strong local character.

The two openings mark Canopy by Hilton’s entry into the Turkish market, following the recent debut of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Istanbul and continued growth under Hilton’s Curio Collection. Together, these brands form part of Hilton’s Lifestyle category, which now accounts for around one-fifth of the company’s global development pipeline, with more than 400 lifestyle hotels currently operating worldwide.

In Istanbul, Canopy by Hilton Istanbul Taksim will open near Taksim Square and Istiklal Avenue, placing the hotel at the heart of the city’s cultural and commercial life. The 110-room property blends contemporary design with elements inspired by the historic Beyoğlu district and features an all-day restaurant offering Turkish and international cuisine, along with a wine bar housed in a restored 150-year-old cistern.

Further west, Canopy by Hilton Izmir Bomonti will open within the Mahall Bomonti complex, a neighbourhood that has undergone a transformation into a social and cultural hub. The 191-room hotel draws on the textures and colours of the Aegean region, with locally influenced dining concepts and communal spaces designed to appeal to both guests and residents.

Hilton executives point to growing demand in Türkiye for accommodation that combines international quality standards with a sense of place. According to Hilton, the number of lifestyle hotels in its Turkish portfolio has tripled over the past three years, with four lifestyle properties opening in the country in 2025 alone across the Canopy, Curio and Tapestry brands.

Looking ahead, Hilton has a further nine lifestyle hotels in development across Türkiye, with five scheduled to open next year. These include projects in Istanbul, Izmir and Cappadocia, notably Hilton’s first cave hotel under the Curio Collection brand. The expansion aligns Türkiye with Hilton’s wider European lifestyle portfolio, which now spans nearly 90 hotels across the continent.

As international and domestic travellers continue to seek out culturally immersive stays, Hilton’s growing lifestyle presence suggests Türkiye will remain a key market in the evolving European hospitality landscape.
