2013-03-26 — /travelprnews.com/ — Today, Copenhagen Airport is launching a new service that allows travellers to shop before they travel and pick up their purchases at the airport on their return. The ‘Pick Up On Return’ service is free of charge and aimed at the many travellers who would like to shop but do not want to carry their purchases with them on their trip.
For many travellers, passing through Copenhagen Airport – with its wide range of attractive shops, special offers and exclusive products – is an excellent opportunity to do some quality shopping. Unfortunately, cabin baggage allowances often limit how much they can buy. But now there is hope for the many travellers who want to shop but do not want to carry their purchases with them on their trip. Copenhagen Airport is launching a new Pick Up On Return service that allows travellers* to shop before departure and have their shopping kept for them until they return, free of charge.
”As much as 64% of the travellers shop when they pass through Copenhagen Airport. And although passengers can shop both on departure and on return, the majority prefers to do their shopping before take-off. Pick Up On Return is a new service for the EU travellers who would like to add to their wine cellar from the wide range of quality wines at Tax Free, for example, or for travellers who want to buy tableware or other products which do not necessarily travel well,” said Carsten Nørland, VP, Sales and Market for Copenhagen Airport. He adds:
“Our ambition is to make the journey through the airport as flexible as possible for our travellers. We offer extraordinary shopping – now also without the worries about heavy carry-on luggage or paying for overweight luggage on the return flight.”
*In Tax Free, Pick Up On Arrival is only available for EU travellers. The other participating stores offer Pick Up On Return for all travellers, regardless of their final destination.

How to shop:
When you pay for your shopping, the sales assistant will ask for your time of return, and then give you a receipt. On your return to Copenhagen Airport, you pick up your shopping at the Tax Free Arrival Shop in the baggage reclaim area.

Dixons Travel, Ecco, Georg Jensen, Gucci, Burberry, Mulberry, Hermés, Ralph Lauren, Ecco, Hugo Boss, Gant, Illums Bolighus, Illums Bolighus – Art & Craft, AK Kaufmann og Tax Free (the service is only available for EU travellers in Tax Free) More shops are expected to offer the service in the course of 2013.
