Copenhagen Airport invites passengers to visit Danish craftsmanship at new, pop-up showroom at Nytorv

Danish design comes alive at Copenhagen Airport

Copenhagen Airport invites passengers to visit a new, pop-up showroom at Nytorv next to Tax Free (New Square). Here, travellers will have the opportunity to experience the craftsmanship behind some of the most famous and innovative Danish design brands before take-off.

2013-05-09 — /travelprnews.com/ — Elegant jewellery and classical design icons can be seen at the Copenhagen Shopping Centre from 8 May, when some of the most inspiring and innovative brands show their design and craftsmanship traditions to travellers.

The living showroom will pop up at the airport in weeks 19 and 20, offering travellers an opportunity see how hand-crafted jewellery from goldsmith Ole Lynggaard is made, or to get an insight into how the classical, woven cane seats of Poul Kjærholm’s iconic PK22 chairs are made, and see the new and innovative bicycles from Biomega becoming aesthetic transport tools.

Copenhagen Airport is known for its unique architecture and world-class design, so bringing the focus on Danish design is a natural part of the airport’s ambition to provide extraordinary experiences to travellers.

“Danish design has long been one of the most significant trademarks of Denmark, and it has given us a prominent place on the world map of design. With the live showroom, we give travellers a chance to peek behind the scenes of some of the strongest Danish design brands – a very special bite of Denmark they can take with them to wherever they are going,” said Carsten Nørland, VP, Sales and Marketing for Copenhagen Airport.
