Clarksville, Arkansas to host inaugural “Christmas in Cline Park” holiday event

Clarksville, Arkansas, 2020-Dec-16 — /Travel PR News/ — The City of Clarksville, Arkansas is preparing to host their inaugural “Christmas in Cline Park” holiday event. From December 18th to January 2nd, families will enjoy a 2,400 sq ft. synthetic ice-skating rink, horse drawn carriage rides, vendors selling hot cocoa and warm snacks, a mailbox for Santa’s letters, and a sea of lit trees throughout the park. More information about the two-week event can be found at www.ClarksvilleAr.gov/Christmas.

Mayor David Rieder said, “We are blessed with local leaders, businesses, and community members who can unite around an idea and bring it to life. It’s my hope that Christmas in Cline Park will be enjoyed by generations of Clarksville residents and visitors alike for years to come.”

A number of community organizations and members pulled together to make this event possible including the Clarksville A&P Commission, Clarksville City Hall, the Clarksville Johnson County Chamber of Commerce, Clarksville city employees, and local businesses. The City anticipates making this an annual event, growing in both amenities and popularity every year.

Clarksville Economic Developer Stephen Houserman said the event is intended to give the community a safe and enchanting outdoor event to put a difficult year behind us.

The City has taken extreme precautions in lieu of COVID-19 by following Department of Health guidelines, ensuring masks are worn at all times, using time slot pre-registrations for visitors to ensure social distancing and limit capacity, and conducting a strict sanitization standdown regime that will occur every hour before new visitors take to the ice.
