2013-02-08 — /travelprnews.com/ — Cathay Pacific Airways announced that the following New York City and Vancouver flights today (8 February) and Saturday (9 February) have been delayed or cancelled due to the severe snowstorm approaching New York City and the John F. Kennedy International Airport.

“We are monitoring the situation closely and will issue updates should there be any further changes to the flight schedule. Passengers who are booked on flights to, from or via New York City departing on 8 and 9 February are strongly encouraged to postpone non-essential travel,” a Cathay Pacific spokesman said.
Passengers booked on the cancelled flights are advised not to go to the airport. Flights are currently very full due to the Chinese New Year holidays, but Cathay Pacific will make every effort to assist with alternative arrangements for affected passengers.
The airline will waive all rebooking and rerouting charges for Cathay Pacific tickets issued worldwide on or before 8 February 2013 for travel on Cathay Pacific with confirmed bookings involving New York City between 8 and 11 February 2013. Details are available at www.cathaypacific.com.
Passengers are advised to check the latest flight information on the airline’s website www.cathaypacific.com before departing for the airport. They are also advised to enter their contact details in the Manage My Booking function on the website to ensure they receive the latest flight updates via SMS or email.
