Christmas came early for youngsters from a local hospice yesterday, when they joined bmi regional at Bristol Airport for a special Santa Flight.
BRISTOL, England, 2015-12-8 — /Travel PR News/ — One of the season’s most anticipated festive treats, bmi regional together with Bristol Airport invited hosted young people and their families for a Christmas party and scenic flight over the UK.
Santa left his sleigh at home and took a different mode of transport as he joined residents of Children’s Hospice South West’s Charlton Farm in nearby Wraxall – on a scenic flight on one of bmi regional’s aircraft that is based at Bristol Airport.
The hospice – just five miles away from the airport – is Bristol Airport’s nominated charity.
There were smiles all around as youngsters and their families were treated to face painting, Christmas drinks and nibbles and a disco in the departure lounge before boarding the bmi regional airplane for a 45-minute scenic flight.
Father Christmas made a special appearance on board, handing out goody bags to passengers.
Jacqui Mills, Public Relations & Community Manager from Bristol Airport said: “To see happy smiles on the faces of families from Children’s Hospice South West’s Charlton Farm is the best Christmas present of all. This is such a magical experience for the families and we thank bmi regional for helping to make it possible to provide such a special day for these brave youngsters and their families.”
Jochen Schnadt, Chief Commercial Officer from bmi regional said: “This is the first time bmi regional has teamed up with Bristol Airport to host a Santa Flight in aid of charity. We are privileged to have been involved in this great initiative and hope we were able to create a magical Christmas experience for the children from Charlton Farm. Of course, Santa, too, had a great time trading his sleigh in for our Embraer jet!”
Father Christmas said: “I usually travel through the skies on a sleigh and it can be a bit of bumpy ride, so travelling on bmi regional was much more comfy – just don’t tell Rudolf and the other reindeer! Merry Christmas, everyone!”
