(PRESS RELEASE) JERSEY, 2025-Jul-3 — /Travel PR News/ — Blue Islands has inaugurated its 2025 European charter programme by welcoming the first German holidaymakers into Jersey. On Saturday, guests flying direct from Erfurt and Münster/Osnabrück touched down to begin week-long stays exploring the island’s scenic landscapes and attractions.
This arrival kicks off a seven-week series of inbound flights from multiple German airports, part of an expanded charter roster that also includes Austria, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. In total, the 2025 programme is projected to generate up to 33,000 visitor bed nights in the Channel Islands, delivering a substantial boost to the local visitor economy.
“We’re honored to serve as the preferred carrier for our growing roster of European tour-operator partners, offering seamless, direct connections for their clients,” said Rob Veron, Chief Executive of Blue Islands. “Germany remains a vital market for us, and we were thrilled to welcome the first groups from Erfurt and Münster/Osnabrück as they embarked on their Jersey adventures.”
Tricia Warwick, Chief Executive of Visit Jersey, added, “With German visitor numbers up 27% last year, restoring direct charter flights for 2025 is a game-changer. Our recent sales mission to the German market—culminating at ITB Berlin—and the ‘Discover Jersey’ event for key tour operators have laid the groundwork for sustained growth. Together with Blue Islands, Ports of Jersey, and our European partners, we’re committed to targeted marketing that raises Jersey’s profile and drives future demand.”
Blue Islands’ Swiss partnership continues with flights from Zurich and a new Bern service, while an Austrian operator completed a successful seven-week Vienna–Jersey run in May and June. With discussions already underway for 2026 expansions, the airline is optimistic about bringing even more European visitors to Jersey’s shores.
