Muharraq, Bahrain, 2018-Jan-08 — /Travel PR News/ — Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), celebrated the 10th anniversary of its partnership with Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline. A ceremony was held at BIA to mark the occasion, which was attended by senior officials from BAC and Jet Airways.
BAC Chief Operating Officer, Ayman Zainal said: “Our partnership with Jet Airways has been one of our most fruitful, helping us reinforce the Kingdom’s position as a hub for airlines in the region. It has also played an important role in strengthening bilateral relations between Bahrain and India. We are confident that our continued association with Jet Airways will bring many more successes in the future.”
Mr. Shakir Kantawala, VP Gulf, Middle East & Africa, Jet Airways, added, “We are delighted at having completed a decade of successful operations in the Gulf, which has played a significant role not only in growing our business, but also in the realisation of the airline’s vision of connecting India with the world. Today, we are the preferred carrier on the Indo-Gulf sector and remain committed towards maintaining that position. We take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude all Gulf governments as well as their national Civil Aviation authorities for their constant guidance and encouragement.”
BAC is the authority responsible for enhancing BIA and increasing the airport’s contribution to the local economy in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. In its operational role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airport’s operations, infrastructure and services. This is set to improve BIA’s capabilities and cater to the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of stakeholders.
