The findings reveal a significant increase in interest in domestic romantic getaways, with accommodation searches rising by nearly 130 percent compared with the previous year. The timing of Valentine’s Day on a weekend contributed to the stronger demand, encouraging more couples to plan short trips together.
Among all destinations, Surat Thani recorded the fastest growth in interest, with accommodation searches increasing more than tenfold compared with the previous year. The province’s coastal scenery and island attractions, including Koh Samui’s beaches and excursions through Ang Thong National Marine Park, have made it an increasingly appealing choice for couples seeking a romantic setting.
Beach destinations remained the most popular category overall. In addition to Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat attracted growing interest from travelers looking for quieter seaside environments combined with cultural experiences. Krabi continued to be a preferred destination thanks to its dramatic coastal landscapes and clear waters, while Hua Hin maintained its popularity among couples seeking a relaxed beach holiday within easy reach of Bangkok.
Mountain and nature destinations also saw increased interest among couples looking for cooler climates and scenic surroundings. Kanchanaburi showed the strongest growth within this category, with accommodation searches more than tripling compared with last year. The area’s river landscapes and natural attractions, including the River Kwai Bridge and Erawan National Park, continue to attract visitors. Khao Yai remained a favored destination for couples drawn to natural scenery and vineyard settings, while Chiang Mai continued to appeal through its mix of cultural heritage and mountainous landscapes.
Urban destinations remained attractive to couples looking to combine romance with vibrant city experiences. Chonburi recorded the strongest growth among city locations, with search volumes more than doubling year over year. The area offers a mix of urban convenience and coastal scenery, including Bangsaen Beach. Pattaya continued to draw visitors with its combination of scenic viewpoints and beachfront settings, while Bangkok remained a popular option for couples interested in iconic landmarks and rooftop venues overlooking the city skyline.
