(PRESS RELEASE) DUBLIN, IRELAND, 2025-Feb-17 — /Travel PR News/ — Aer Lingus is inviting applications for its highly sought-after Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship Programme, offering individuals with a strong technical and mechanical interest the chance to kickstart a career in aviation engineering. Aspiring engineers are encouraged to apply by the deadline of 28th February 2025.

This four-year apprenticeship, developed in partnership with SOLAS—the State’s further education and training agency, Technological University Dublin, and South East Technological University—provides hands-on experience and professional training, leading to a fully recognized qualification as an Aircraft Engineer. Apprentices will have the unique opportunity to work on Aer Lingus’ modern fleet of aircraft, including the A320 Classic, the latest A321 XLR, and the A330.

Throughout the programme, apprentices will be paid, with a structured pay scale provided by both Aer Lingus and SOLAS during the four-year training period. The apprenticeship begins in Dublin, followed by nine months at the company’s base in Shannon. Apprentices will then return to Dublin to continue their training, working under the supervision of experienced engineers while also attending classes at Technological University Dublin (TUD) or South East Technological University (SETU) to complete the required modules for the EASA license.

Javier Jimenez, Chief Technical Officer at Aer Lingus, commented: “Our Apprentice Programme has a strong legacy of preparing candidates for success in the aviation engineering field. We’re thrilled to welcome the next class of apprentices for the 2025 programme, providing them with the practical skills needed for a prosperous career in this dynamic industry. This is an excellent opportunity to develop in one of Ireland’s leading airlines.”

Jimenez continued, “We strongly encourage all interested candidates to apply for this exceptional opportunity. This apprenticeship offers invaluable experience and a clear path to permanent employment with Aer Lingus.”
