(PRESS RELEASE) Paris, France, 2024-Jun-22 — /Travel PR News/ — Accor, a leading global hospitality group, has partnered with executive travel managers and buyers from 17 international corporations to establish the Accor Global Leadership Council (GLC). This innovative advisory board aims to redefine corporate travel and meetings for 2025 and beyond. The GLC brings together business leaders from diverse industries such as financial services, engineering, manufacturing, transportation, energy, professional services, and technology, along with senior executives from Accor.

The inaugural session, held in Paris and hosted by Sophie Hulgard, Chief Sales Officer at Accor, focused on evolving corporate and traveler expectations, the importance of recognition, personalization, and B2B loyalty, sustainability, emerging traveler trends, distribution and pricing, and an in-depth look at Sofitel, the hosting hotel brand.

Council members, representing a combined workforce of over 2.7 million travelers, identified three key priorities for business travel:

  1. Traveler experience and well-being – including employee engagement, wellness, traveler security, and digital efficiencies.
  2. Cost management and optimization – including program compliance, pricing, cost reduction, and cost avoidance.
  3. Sustainability – including sustainable actions, carbon budgets, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Sophie Hulgard emphasized the importance of adapting to the rapidly evolving dynamics of corporate travel, noting that the GLC provides a vital platform for sharing insights and developing solutions to meet changing needs.

The GLC aims to generate actionable strategies to drive and transform business travel on a global scale. Accor plans to compile the council’s findings into a comprehensive report to be released later this year.
