Alexandria, VA, 2018-Nov-16 — /Travel PR News/ — Al Stuart, A.A.E., Superintendent of Operations at Salt Lake City International Airport, will receive the American Association of Airport Executives’ (AAAE) Distinguished Service Award, which is presented to airport executives in honor of an exemplary career and contributions to the airport industry.
Stuart has been active in many aspects of AAAE over the years, including serving for six years on the Board of Directors and as Chair of the AAAE Operations, Safety and Planning Committee, where he currently co-chairs the Airside Safety and Procedures Working Group. Stuart also served as President and on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Chapter of AAAE (NWAAAE), where he established the chapter’s first scholarship fund. Additionally, Stuart is a five-time Chair of the AAAE/NWAAAE Airport Facilities Management Conference Committee and has served on a number of other AAAE conference committees.
Stuart has been with Salt Lake City International Airport for the past 38 years. He started as an Airport Operations Officer and later served as a Senior Airport Operations Officer, an Airport Operations Supervisor, an Airfield Manager, and the Airfield Operations Superintendent. Over his distinguished career, Stuart has developed and managed airfield, terminal, landside and law enforcement programs. Stuart is a former president of the Utah Airport Operators Association and served on the organization’s board for 35 years.
