(PRESS RELEASE) FRANKFURT, 2025-May-30 — /Travel PR News/ — Frankfurt Cargo Services (FCS), a subsidiary of Worldwide Flight Services (WFS), a SATS company, has secured a contract with EDT – eDirect Transport, a global logistics platform specializing in cross-border e-commerce between China and Europe. Under this agreement, FCS will provide E-commerce & Freight Forwarder Handling (EFFH) services at Frankfurt Airport, strengthening the airport’s role as a leading hub for e-commerce shipments.

This new contract builds on the successful partnership between WFS, SATS, and EDT, which already includes e-commerce handling agreements at CDG (Paris Charles de Gaulle) and LGG (Liège) airports. It reflects the ongoing commitment of WFS and SATS to the growing e-commerce industry and their dedication to enabling faster throughput of shipments at all stations.

The contract comes alongside FCS’s investment to expand its dedicated e-commerce handling facility at Frankfurt Airport by 300%, bringing the facility’s total size to 2,000sqm. This expansion will allow FCS to provide specialized handling services for import e-commerce shipments destined for the German consumer market.

Enhanced Services for E-Commerce Shipments
Under the terms of the agreement, FCS will offer import handling services for EDT at FCS’s first-line warehouse, which boasts direct ramp access. This setup will ensure the quick breakdown, sortation, and delivery of shipments to the last mile transportation provider within agreed process timings. The majority of the shipments handled will be for Germany’s consumer market, arriving via scheduled carriers, including major Chinese airline clients that work with FCS at Frankfurt Airport.

Claus Wagner, Managing Director of Frankfurt Cargo Services, commented:
“With our investment to expand e-commerce handling capacity in Frankfurt, FCS is sending a clear signal to leading companies like EDT that we are supporting their special service requirements. We are making a strong commitment to these partnerships. In addition to greater capacity, we have a specialist team dedicated to e-commerce handling, and our long-standing relationships with major airlines serving the German market from key origin points in China have played a key role in securing EDT’s business.”

Wagner continued, “E-commerce traffic into Germany is growing rapidly, and this collaboration with EDT as one of our first dedicated e-commerce customers will continue to enhance Frankfurt Airport’s reputation as a premier hub for e-commerce in Europe, with the support of the local Customs authority.”
