Hong Kong, 2023-Feb-22 — /Travel PR News/ — Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group attained the highest rankings for many of its hotels, restaurants and spas in the annual Forbes Travel Guide Five- & Four-Star Awards. A record 30 hotels have been recognised, with 26 hotels earning the prized Five-Star Award achievement.
The iconic Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, once again achieved six Five Star ratings across all three categories for the hotel, spa and three of its restaurants, the Michelin-starred Man Wah and Mandarin Grill + Bar; as well as Krug Room. It remains the only city hotel in the world to achieve this honor.
Mandarin Oriental, Macau was again awarded Five Stars across the three categories for its hotel, spa and restaurant. This honor has only accomplished by a handful of hotels worldwide.
Twelve of the Group’s hotels achieved Five Star distinction in both the hotel and spa categories; Mandarin Oriental, Boston, Mandarin Oriental, Doha, Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou, Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London, Mandarin Oriental, Macau, Mandarin Oriental, Miami, Mandarin Oriental, New York, Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo and Mandarin Oriental Wangfujing, Beijing. In addition, Mandarin Oriental, Marrakech, Mandarin Oriental, Milan, Mandarin Oriental, Paris, and Mandarin Oriental, Taipei achieved the Five Star distinction for the hotel.
In addition, out of 119 Forbes Five Star Spas, 15 are Spas at Mandarin Oriental, more than any other hotel group. The winners include Spas at Mandarin Oriental properties located in Boston, Miami and New York together with London, Barcelona, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macau,
Singapore and Tokyo.
As a testament to the Group’s commitment to dining excellence, The Krug Room, Man Wah and Mandarin Grill at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong, Amber at The Landmark Mandarin Oriental and Vida Rica at Mandarin Oriental, Macau, all achieved the Five Star award.
According to Forbes, standards for Forbes Five Star Award certifications are exact, and few properties meet them. To achieve Forbes Travel Guide Four and Five Star status, properties must meet or exceed the bar-setting service standards, which are determined through an unannounced, undercover service evaluation conducted by Forbes Travel Guide’s expert inspectors. In 2023, 360 hotels achieved Forbes Five Star Award status, 79 restaurants and 119 spas have achieved the Forbes Five Star Award.
