World record at Budapest Airport: Strongman Zsolt “Popeye” Sinka moved and pulled nearly 90 tons DHL Express’s aircraft

BUDAPEST, 2014-04-14 — /Travel PR News/ — Nearly 90 tons – this is the weight of a completely empty Airbus A300 cargo aircraft, with some kerosene in its tanks. Strongman Zsolt “Popeye” Sinka, the holder of several Hungarian and world records, moved and pulled DHL Express’s aircraft on the Terminal 1 apron at Budapest Airport.

Zsolt “Popeye” Sinka, a strength athlete and the holder of several world records, pulled DHL Express’s Airbus A300-600F type aircraft with his teeth and pure strength on the apron in front of Terminal 1 at Budapest Airport, thus setting a new world record. The aircraft weighs approximately 90 tons when it is empty, with just a few tons of kerosene in its tanks. It is therefore an unbelievable feat that the aircraft traveled 26 meters in 35 seconds on the concrete, towed by the sheer strength of a single human being, against the strengthening headwind. Thereby, Zsolt “Popeye” Sinka broke his own record, set last year, when he pulled an empty Airbus A320 airliner weighing 42 tons.

“This is an accomplishment of the highest order by Zsolt „Popeye” Sinka, who has set a unique world record on the concrete at Budapest Airport by pulling a DHL Airbus A300-600F type cargo aircraft with his teeth,” said Mihály Hardy, communications director for Budapest Airport, who served as the host of the event. “We will continue to provide all the support we can for Zsolt’s feats of strength. By pulling aircraft with his teeth, he has become something of a celebrity not only in Hungary, but in the Persian Gulf region as well. May the force be with him!” he added.

DHL Express’s Airbus A300-600F type cargo aircraft transports international consignments on a daily basis between Hungary and the company’s European hub in Leipzig. The tried and tested cargo aircraft is not a unique member of DHL Express’s fleet; the company purchased 16 such aircraft in 2013. In addition to their modern technological level, their main advantage is that the cost of their operation is on average 20-25% lower than that of older models.
