The newspaper’s expert has compiled a list of 20 nominees across the nation – airport restaurants which can make the wait for a flight a pleasant experience. Several factors were taken into consideration: the quality of the food, service, views within the airport, location, uniqueness, friendliness and ambiance.

Tortas Frontera by Rick Bayless, has three locations at O’Hare – In Terminals 1, 2 and 5. They all provide a menu filled with “quick-service gourmet” items, such as griddle-baked tortas, open-faced molletes, fresh guacamole and warm tortilla chips made with local and regionally-source ingredients, including herbs grown inside the airport, at O’Hare own aeroponic garden.
Bayless, an award-winning, celebrity chef, also operates three popular restaurants in Chicago – Frontera Grill, Topolobampo and Xoco.
