Las Vegas, U.S.A., 2013-09-30 — /travelprnews.com/ — An original, tree-like art sculpture will be installed in the recently renovated lobby of the AAA Five DiamondFour Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, further enhancing the sleek space by reflecting its indoor-outdoor feel. The installation will be complete on Wednesday, October 2, 2013.
Conceived and created by Toronto-based artist Ken Gangbar, the 17-foot (five metre) tall abstract tree will be comprised of 32 dark metal finish rods attached to a chamfered-edge raised base. The structure will appear to rise out of the floor and reach toward the dramatic dome in the ceiling above. Gangbar designed the piece specifically for the space.
The installation comes on the heels of the nongaming Hotel’s lobby and guest room renovation, which was complete in May 2013. The centrepiece of the lobby is the new indoor/outdoor bar and lounge, PRESS, which features large picture windows and oversized glass doors, making visible the lush greenery and landscaped patio beyond.
“The recent lobby renovation brought the outdoors into the lobby so beautifully,” says Gangbar. “The streams of sunlight pouring through the large windows will add dimension to the piece and highlight the rich, luxurious colouration.”
Glass shapes will vary in colour from opaque black with silver and gold geometric patterns to gold with geometric patterns while others will feature a rich orange interior to provide an extra pop of colour.
Gangbar is a Toronto-based artist whose work springs from nature, its elements, forces and cycles, resulting in a creative and innovative collision between the natural and industrial. His clients include a wide range of international architecture and design firms, private clients and consultants. Like the piece for Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, much of Gangbar’s work is site specific and commission-based.
This original sculpture was created in Toronto and will be installed in the lobby at Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas by Gangbar himself.
