ST. JAMES’S HOTEL & CLUB ANNOUNCES NEW 1857 THE BAR POP-UP AT SOMERSET HOUSE’S PHOTO LONDON FAIR

12th – 15th May 2022

London, United Kingdom, 2022-Apr-26 — /Travel PR News/ — St. James’s Hotel & Club Mayfair is excited to announce that visitors to Somerset House’s Photo London Fair from 12th – 15th May will be able to experience their new 1857 The Bar – a port-specialty offering that was first launched in October 2021.

The pop-up bar will be situated in the main pavilion at one of the leading photography art fairs in Europe, celebrating the very best of past, present and future of photography. With an established connection to art at the hotel, represented in the Rosenstein Collection of 20th century European artworks, this is a fitting partnership.

1857 The Bar at St. James’s Hotel & Club

1857 The Bar serves the widest variety of port found in any London bar, including limited, rare and unusual wines, aged tawnies, single quintas and vintage ports.

Also on offer is the oldest wine in the UK to be sold by the glass. The bar showcases the exceptionally rare Graham’s 1882 Ne Oublie port that dates back to the arrival of Andrew Symington in Portugal that year – this is the only bar where this is currently served to the general public. This port is named after the family’s original motto and is bottled in a hand-made crystal decanter within a Smythson leather presentation box.

Catering to both port lovers and newcomers to the drink, there are also port cocktails on offer. For example, Port SourGraham’s Blend Series No. 5 specifically intended for the bar scene and non-traditional port drinkers, mixed with egg white and lemon and Queen of the NightGraham’s Tawny 10 year old port, Blandy’s 10 year old Verdelho, Seignette Cognac VS, Crème de Rose.

1857 The Bar also caters for non-port drinkers, with a range of premium spirits, classic cocktails and non-alcoholic cocktails.
