Industry veteran to lead aviation MRO market leader through next phase of growth
Ottawa, Canada, 2016-Sep-16 — /Travel PR News/ — Mxi® Technologies, the leader in aviation maintenance software, announced today that Jon Slangerup has been named Mxi’s new Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. In this role, Mr. Slangerup will be responsible for working with the Leadership team to further strengthen Mxi Technologies’ market position and drive corporate growth.
A senior-level executive with experience spanning the fields of aviation, technology and logistics, Mr. Slangerup joins Mxi Technologies from the Port of Long Beach — one of the world’s premier seaports connecting trade between the United States and Asia – where he is currently transitioning as its Chief Executive Officer to take on his new role at Mxi. Previously, Mr. Slangerup spent 20 years at FedEx, where he advanced to become President of FedEx Canada, and helped build the Canadian business into a billion-dollar enterprise.
“I am excited to be joining Mxi Technologies, a company with a strong track record of operational excellence and market leadership,” Mr. Slangerup said in a statement. “With such great prospects and opportunities ahead of us, supported by an experienced senior leadership team, I look forward to working with the team to deliver exceptional value, innovative solutions, and a long-term product vision to our customers and community stakeholders.”
Mr. Slangerup began his career in military and commercial aviation, and over the next twenty years, went on to serve as a president, CEO and/or director of both public and private companies, successfully building businesses ranging from small technology startups to global brands. In addition to the Mxi Board, he currently serves on the Board of Trustees for his alma mater, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
He succeeds Bill Cavitt, who served as Mxi President & CEO since 2014. During his tenure, Mr. Cavitt was instrumental in strengthening Mxi’s position as one of the world’s leading global aviation maintenance management software companies. The Company delivered strong results in 2015, and is poised to exceed its profitability and revenue targets for 2016.
“With today’s announcement, we are confident that Jon Slangerup’s proven executive experience will position Mxi favorably for continuous growth and success well into the future,” says James Johnston, Partner at NexPhase Capital. “The board welcomes Jon to the Leadership team, and is grateful for Bill’s contributions as CEO and President.”
