KINGS ISLAND, Ohio, United States, 2013-11-15 — /travelprnews.com/ — Kings Island has named Nathan Gushulak as its first executive chef.
Gushulak is no stranger to Kings Island, having worked seasonally at the 364-acre amusement and waterpark for the past seven years. He was responsible this past season for overseeing the opening and operation of the Reds Hall of Fame Grille.
His culinary background also includes a stint in the food and beverage division at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
In his role as executive chef, Gushulak will bring a more defined culinary presence to Kings Island. The Loveland, Ohio native will also assist in menu development, food analysis and culinary education.
“Hiring an executive chef will yield a better dining experience for our guests,” said Gary Gochenour, vice-president of food services at Kings Island. “Chef Nathan will bring new and exciting ideas to our already popular portfolio of menu items at the park. We’re thrilled to have him join our management team.”
Gushulak is looking forward to the challenge of elevating the dining experience for guests throughout the park.
“I will be working hard on training our seasonal associates, working on food quality and making the food for our guests as memorable as a ride on the new Banshee roller coaster,” Gushulak said.
Gushulak is a graduate of Moeller High School and Cincinnati State’s Culinary Institute. He begins his new duties immediately.
Kings Island is owned and operated by Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, a publicly traded partnership that is listed for trading on The New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “FUN.” In addition to Kings Island, Cedar Fair owns and operates ten other amusement parks, three outdoor water parks, an indoor water park, and five hotels. Cedar Fair also operates the Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park in Gilroy, Calif. under a management contract.
