IHG Partners with FET SYSTEM INC. to Launch ANA Holiday Inn Iwate Kitakami in Japan by Q3 2025

• 114-room hotel to undergo refurbishment and reopen in Q3 this year
• Expands the brand footprint to 12 open and pipeline hotels in the country

(IN SHORT) IHG Hotels & Resorts has partnered with FET SYSTEM INC. to launch the ANA Holiday Inn Iwate Kitakami in Japan by Q3 2025. The property, currently known as Hotel City Plaza Kitakami, will undergo a significant renovation, including the introduction of the Open Lobby concept. With 114 rooms, the hotel is set to be part of a growing network of Holiday Inn properties across Japan, contributing to IHG’s expanding footprint in the region. The hotel is conveniently located near JR Kitakami Station and key attractions, positioning it as a hub for both domestic and international travelers exploring the Tohoku region.

(PRESS RELEASE) Tokyo, Japan, 2025-Mar-7 — /Travel PR News/ — IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced an agreement with Odate Royal Hotel Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of FET SYSTEM INC., to launch the ANA Holiday Inn Iwate Kitakami in the third quarter of 2025. This marks the second partnership between IHG and FET SYSTEM INC., following the successful collaboration on ANA Crowne Plaza Kumamoto New Sky.

Currently operating as Hotel City Plaza Kitakami, the 114-room property will undergo a significant renovation, transforming it into a modern ANA Holiday Inn. The renovation will include upgrading the guest rooms and incorporating key brand features such as the popular Open Lobby concept, which is central to the Holiday Inn experience.

Once the renovation is completed, ANA Holiday Inn Iwate Kitakami will be part of a growing network of 12 Holiday Inn hotels in Japan, enhancing IHG’s presence in the country. It will also contribute to the global Holiday Inn portfolio, which includes 1,249 open hotels and an additional 266 in the pipeline worldwide.

The hotel, strategically located just a seven-minute walk from JR Kitakami Station, offers easy access to Tokyo, which is a 2.5-hour Shinkansen ride away. It also serves as an ideal base for exploring the Tohoku region, with local attractions including Tenshochi Park and numerous cultural and historical sites.
