Food lovers: The Great Bath Feast 2014 to feature supper clubs, cooking classes, workshops and more between 1st October and 31st October

MASTERCHEF 2014 CHAMPION CREATES A STIR IN THE CITY

BATH, UK, 2014-7-29 — /Travel PR News/ — The Great Bath Feast is the biggest and most diverse food festival in the South West. Not only is it an incredible experience for food lovers, it brings Bath’s fiercely independent restaurants together to create an atmosphere of sharing, caring and fun; everything that food should be!

This year’s cherry on top the cake comes in the shape of Ping Coombes, the newly crowned winner of MasterChef 2014 who heads up a list of culinary celebrities heading to Bath this October for the feast; others include TV favourite Angela Hartnett MBE, winner of three AA Rosettes Luke Holder and Michelin star holderTom Kerridge.

The Great Bath feast lasts for the whole of October (Wed 1st October – Fri 31st October) and features supper clubs, cooking classes, workshops and so much more! The Great Bath Feast Pavilion will once again be the centre of activity with the best of Bath’s chefs displaying their awesome cooking and charisma.

Main headliners for this year’s foodie festival include:

• Ping pulls out the stops and teams up with the Allium for a series of Malaysian Street Food sittings
• Harvesting and Breaking Bread; Bath’s baker Richard Bertinet shares his patisserie secrets
• Back to School; this year marks the 30th anniversary of vegetarian expert Rachel Demuth as she talks us through ‘Bath on a Plate’
• Foraging in Bath; Bath on a plate with local foraging experts
• Provenance; from field to fork with chef demos and talks by local food suppliers
• Sociable Suppers across various eateries in Bath ranging from intimate pop up Vietnamese dinners to more formal seven course tasting menus at Menu Gordon Jones
• Great Bath Bake Sale in Bath Abbey
• Bath Rugby v Bath Netball Chilli Eating ‘Super League’ Competition

Also NEW for 2014 is the Tenner Feast which offers hungry guests the chance to dine at a great Bath restaurant for only £10! Also home retailers will be offering discounts on their kitchen goods so you can use all the skills you’ve learnt or inspiration you’ve gathered to rustle up something for yourself.

Now with all that great food on offer you’ll need something to wash it down with, well luckily the Great Bath Feast isn’t just about food, it’s also a paradise for wine, whisky, cider lovers- whichever tipple tickles your fancy really. Events include the Great Western Wines Portfolio where over 100 wine producers will come together in the Assembly Rooms for an epic tasting session.

Bath is a city known for its amazing heritage, this isn’t forgotten with the Great Bath Feast as you can even taste the past. Food historian and contributor to BBC’s Kitchen Cabinet, Dr Annie Gray presents ‘Cooking the Books’. She will explore the culinary secrets hidden away in rare manuscripts dating back to the 1600’s from the archive of Bath Central Library.

As well as this Dale Ingram from Sally Lunn’s will recreate recipes by the famous 18th century actress Sarah Siddon’s.
