CHICAGO, 2015-7-13 — /Travel PR News/ — The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) announces that the Yellow Economy Parking Lot at Midway International Airport, located at the northeast corner of Cicero Avenue and West 55th Street, will close on Monday, July 13, 2015 for renovation. The lot is expected to re-open in November 2015.
The lot will be closed to make several improvements including a newly paved surface; improved facility lighting; additional entrance/exit lanes into and out of the lot; automated parking equipment; express ticketless entry via credit card; and dedicated shuttle bus access.
Signage has been posted at the entrance of the Yellow Lot to advise customers of the upcoming closure. During the Yellow Lot closure, alternative parking at Midway will be available in the Terminal Parking Garage and Economy Parking (Garage and Red Lot) along West 55th Street. Complimentary shuttle bus service from the Economy Garage and Red Lot operates every 15 minutes and is available 24 hours per day, every day.
In addition, the Midway Cell Phone Lot will be temporary closed for resurfacing on July 14, weather permitting, and is expected to re-open on or before July 19.
During the busy summer travel season, the CDA recommends checking its website, www.Flychicago.com or tuning to ParkNet Radio (am1630) to determine the availability of parking spaces at Midway.
