Zurich Airport announces the start of the new winter timetable

ZURICH, Switzerland, 2017-Oct-25 — /Travel PR News/ — The switch to winter time on October 29, 2017 also marks the start of the new winter timetable at Zurich Airport. The timetable will run up to and including March 24, 2018. In addition, winter opening hours will apply for the observation decks and public bus tours.

This winter, passengers will be able to fly from Zurich directly to 137 destinations in 63 countries around the world, following various additions to the flight timetable. For example, Swiss International Air Lines is expanding its European route network by flying to Wrocław (Breslau) three times a week. Edelweiss is expanding its services to North American destinations, with a weekly flight to Orlando from 16 January 2018. Throughout the 2017/2018 winter timetable, it will also continue the non-stop flights to Cancún (Mexico) and San José (Costa Rica) it introduced in summer. In addition, Germania is adding the destinations of Tenerife and Sharm el-Sheik to its route network.

Winter opening hours for observation decks and winter tour offering
The move to the winter timetable also means a change to the opening hours of observation deck B at Zurich Airport and the public bus tours available. While observation deck B will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. between October 29, 2017 and March 24, 2018, the observation deck E will remain closed for the winter months. Public bus tours will only be available on Sundays over the winter. Further information on opening hours is available at https://www.zurich-airport.com/observation-decks.

The detailed winter flight timetable can be found at https://www.zurich-airport.com/flight-timetable. Passengers travelling to the United States are still advised to arrive at the airport three hours before departure of their flight.

Below is a list of the most important changes to the 2017/18 winter timetable:

Swiss International Air Lines
Following the change to the timetable, Swiss International Air Lines is increasing the number of flights in its European route network. In addition, it will now also be flying to Wrocław (Breslau) in Southern Poland three times a week. Continuing its service launched for the 2017 summer timetable, SWISS will fly to Niš (Serbia) twice a week over the winter months.

Edelweiss
From 16 January 2018, Edelweiss will be adding a further North American destination to its flight timetable: Orlando, and flying to the fifth-largest city in Florida on a weekly basis.

Germania
The 2017/18 winter timetable sees Germania adding two sun-filled destinations to its programme. From 4 November 2017, it will fly twice a week to Tenerife on the Canary Islands, and – for the first time – from Zurich to Sharm el-Sheik in Egypt once a week.

Finnair
In addition to its flights to Helsinki, between 16 December 2017 and 24 March 2018 Finnair will be running a Saturday service to Kittilä.

Icelandair
For the first time, Icelandic airline Icelandair will also be flying over the winter to Iceland and onward to the USA or Canada, with flights on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Air China
As in the summer timetable, the Star Alliance carrier will be operating the Zurich-Beijing service four times a week.

easyJet
The destinations easyJet incorporated into its route network with its summer 2017 timetable (Nice three times a week and Venice four times a week) will be maintained in the airline’s flight timetable over the winter.

Vueling
Spanish airline Vueling has been flying from Zurich to Prague and Palma de Mallorca since summer 2017. It will continue to offer both destinations during the 2017/18 winter timetable.
