BUDAPEST, Hungary, 2017-Feb-23 — /Travel PR News/ — Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe and Romania’s largest airline, celebrates today (22/02/2017) an important milestone of 100,000 carried passengers on its low-fare domestic route between Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca after only 6 months from its launch. WIZZ’s lucky 100,000th passenger, Răzvan C. (31) was flying from Cluj-Napoca to Bucharest and was greeted upon arrival with a WIZZ return ticket.
Wizz Air is always looking to bring more affordable travel opportunities for its Romanian passengers, and thus in July 2016 launched its first domestic route connecting two of the most boosting cities in Romania, Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. The flight, with a convenient schedule, of 10 weekly frequencies, and low-fares from only 39.99 RON*, is very much appreciated by both, business and leisure travelers.
For 2017 WIZZ has already announced 14 new routes to nine countries from Romania, such as the picturesque sunny destinations Lamezia Terme, Malta and Larnaca or the popular citybreak getaways: Warsaw, Bratislava and Stockholm. Already the largest airline in Romania, Wizz Air is always looking to expand its network and create more opportunities for its customers, offering now 133 routes to 20 countries across Europe from 9 Romanian airports.
Over the past decade, more than 28 million passengers from Romania have enjoyed the WIZZ experience, low fares, easy booking system and excellent on-board service. This year Wizz Air will have 22 aircraft based in Romania, including 5 of the ultra-efficient brand new 230-seat Airbus A321, employing over 750 customer-oriented crew.
Sorina Ratz, Communications Manager at Wizz Air said: “Wizz Air has started a new era in domestic Romanian air travel only 6 months ago by launching the Bucharest – Cluj-Napoca service, and today we are thrilled to celebrate a significant milestone 100 000 passengers.
