Wizz Air announces new route from Budapest to Bordeaux starting September

BUDAPEST, Hungary, 2017-Mar-06 — /Travel PR News/ — Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, today announced a new route from Budapest to Bordeaux. The newest WIZZ service will commence on 22 September and will be operated two times a week, on Mondays and Fridays.  Seats on the new route are already on sale and can be booked on wizzair.com from just HUF 6,990*.

Bordeaux, hub of the renowned wine-growing region, is a port city on the Garonne River in southwestern France. Besides its world-class cuisine, Bordeaux is famous for its fascinating architecture and rich cultural heritage: half the city is UNESCO-listed, making it the largest urban World Heritage site.

Being the hometown airline of Hungary, Wizz Air currently operates flights from two Hungarian bases in Budapest and Debrecen with a total of 11 aircraft in the country and an additional aircraft to join the Budapest fleet from April 2017, employing more than 1,000 people in flight crew, cabin crew, office and supporting functions. In 2016, Wizz Air carried 3.7 million passengers on its low-fare Hungarian routes, which represents 23% growth year over year. Based on the 2016 figures the airline’s operations support over 2,800 indirect local jobs**.

WIZZ now offers 67 routes from Hungary connecting Budapest and Debrecen with 28 countries across Europe and beyond.
