Cedar Rapids, IA, 2013-08-24 — /travelprnews.com/ — The Eastern Iowa Airport and Allegiant Air are announcing direct service between Cedar Rapids and Punta Gorda/Ft. Myers Florida. The service will begin on December 18 with two non-stop flights per week.
Allegiant will introduce the new service with fares as low as $99.99 each way. To take advantage of this special fare, tickets must be purchased by Aug. 6 for travel by Feb. 11, 2014. Flight days and times can be found at www.allegiant.com.
Punta Gorda is roughly halfway between the white-sand beaches of Fort Myers and Sarasota’s tropical island communities in southwest Florida. It will become Allegiant’s fifth nonstop destination from Cedar Rapids, joining Las Vegas, Orlando Sanford, Phoenix-Mesa and St. Petersburg/Tampa.
