Swissport signs partnership with Mohammed VI International Academy of Civil Aviation

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 2022-Jun-09 — /Travel PR News/ —Swissport has signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Mohammed VI International Academy of Civil Aviation, further strengthening the global aviation services company’s commitment to the education and training of future aviation professionals and leaders in the MEA region.

On May 13, Swissport entered into a Cooperation Agreement with the Mohammed VI International Academy of Civil Aviation. The signing ceremony took place during Academy‘s graduation, which was presided by Mohammed Abdeljalil, Morocco’s Minister of Transport and Logistics and Habiba Laklalech, CEO of the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA). Swissport Morocco, represented by Christian Zweifel, CEO, awarded prizes to the Academy’s top performing students.

“Our focus is to strengthen Swissport’s involvement in the field of education and training,” said Christian Zweifel, CEO of Swissport Morocco. “We recognize that by providing a hands-on experience and the best possible learning environment, we are preparing the next generation of aviation leaders and professionals.” Under the new Cooperation Agreement, Swissport Morocco and the Academy of Civil Aviation will work together to develop intensive training sessions, learning programs, as well as provide internship opportunities to support and foster new aviation talent within the country. Academy graduates will be given the opportunity to take on a portfolio of roles at Swissport’s stations in Morocco.

“This agreement sets a strong foundation for the knowledge exchange between the Academy of Civil Aviation’s lectors, students, and experienced professionals from Swissport,” said Dr. Abdellah Menou, Director of AIAC. “Furthermore, it will enable the application of theoretical knowledge into real life work experience and everyday challenges. In a dynamic and safety-driven industry, our students will receive the top-quality training, thereby enlarging their career opportunities.”

Swissport has been operating in Morocco since 2012 and is currently present at 15 stations where it provides a portfolio of aviation services ranging from ground handling, passenger services, to executive aviation. Additionally, Swissport provides central load control services for the worldwide locations from their HQ in Casablanca. The global aviation services company actively promotes education within the industry across the Middle East and Africa region. In Tanzania, Swissport operates the Swissport Training Center, an aviation, travel, and tourism school that is recognized by IATA and the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority.
