Notes for the editor

The Sochi 2014 ticketing program is one of the largest in the history of the Winter Games due to the record number of sports and new competitions included in the Olympic program.

The first phase of ticket sales for the event took place from February 7 to May 31, 2013. Then tickets were only sold by price category, without indication of seat numbers. During the summer, when sales online at tickets.sochi2014.com was suspended, distribution of seats in the stands was implemented in an automated manner. Spectators who purchased tickets during the first phase of sales, from October 10, 2013, can receive information about their seats in the stadium under the “My Account” section on the website.

The second phase of ticket sales for the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games started on Thursday 10 October on the official Games website tickets.sochi2014.com. Those who were not lucky enough to obtain tickets during the first phase of tickets sales have another chance to join the club of Sochi 2014 spectators and to visit the first ever Olympic Winter Games in Russia. In this second phase, fans will be able to purchase their tickets with pre-allocated seats for the sports events and Ceremonies. The prices of the tickets have not changed.

On September 27, the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee opened ticket sales for Russia’s first Paralympic Winter Games. The Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi is an unrivalled opportunity to see the world’s best elite Paralympic athletes compete.

To gain entry to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, all spectators must obtain and bring their Spectator Pass with them to the venues.
