Singapore Airlines Unveils S$1.1 Billion A350 Cabin Upgrade, Featuring New First Class for Ultra-Long-Haul Flights
(IN SHORT) Singapore Airlines has committed S$1.1 billion to retrofit its Airbus A350 fleet, introducing upgraded First, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy Class cabins across 41 aircraft. This investment will bring a new, luxurious First Class to its A350-900ULR aircraft for ultra-long-haul flights, along with enhanced privacy and comfort in Business Class. The upgraded cabins will also feature the latest KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system. The first retrofitted A350 is expected to enter service by mid-2026, with the entire project targeted for completion by 2030.
(PRESS RELEASE) Singapore , 2024-Nov-4 — /Travel PR News/ — Singapore Airlines (SIA) has announced a S$1.1 billion investment in upgrading the cabins of its Airbus A350 fleet, spanning 41 long-haul and ultra-long-range aircraft. This extensive retrofitting programme, set to run through 2030, will introduce a luxurious new First Class cabin to SIA’s seven A350-900ULR aircraft, specially tailored for the longest routes. The upgrade reflects SIA’s dedication to meeting evolving traveler expectations for comfort and sophistication.
The retrofit includes redesigned Business Class seats across all 41 A350 aircraft, featuring increased privacy and ergonomic improvements to maximize comfort. Premium Economy and Economy Class cabins will also receive upgrades, ensuring an enhanced travel experience for all passengers. Additionally, the KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system will be updated to provide a personalized entertainment experience across all cabin classes, with new screens introduced in First and Business Class.
CEO Goh Choon Phong emphasized that these new cabin products are the result of six years of customer-focused design, incorporating features aimed at providing a seamless and elevated travel experience. The first retrofitted A350 is scheduled to begin service in the second quarter of 2026, with the ultra-long-range variant following in early 2027.
