The agreement includes flights from Denmark and Sweden to destinations like Corfu and Bodrum, with Sunweb’s recent acquisition of Airtours in Sweden now part of the deal. SAS will operate flights using Airbus A320neo aircraft, known for their fuel efficiency. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to growth and quality service, strengthening SAS’s role in the Nordic travel market.

(PRESS RELEASE) Stockholm, Sweden, 2024-Dec-3 — /Travel PR News/ — SAS has announced a new long-term agreement with Sunweb Group, extending its partnership through the summer of 2027. The updated contract, valued at 740 million SEK, replaces the previous two-year arrangement and now includes Airtours’ operations following Sunweb’s acquisition in Sweden. SAS will operate charter flights from Denmark and Sweden to a variety of popular destinations, including Corfu in Greece and Bodrum in Turkey.

This extended partnership underscores both SAS and Sunweb’s commitment to fostering long-term growth within the charter market. With the new agreement, SAS will further solidify its position as a key player in the sector. The total value of the contract has increased significantly from its previous value of 200 million SEK to 740 million SEK.

Edward Fotheringham, Vice President of Global Sales at SAS, expressed the airline’s enthusiasm, saying, “Both Sunweb and Airtours are esteemed, long-term partners in Sweden and Denmark. SAS will operate these charter flights using its Airbus A320neo aircraft, known for their fuel efficiency and modern design. The new routes will connect customers from Arlanda, Gothenburg, and Copenhagen to 13 popular destinations, including Crete, Rhodes, Zakynthos, Antalya, and Alanya.
