Rezidor hotels donated EUR 66,500 to the victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines

Brussels, Belgium, 2014-1-15 — /travelprnews.com/ — Rezidor, a member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, and its 350 operating hotels across Europe, the Middle East and Africa have donated EUR 60,000 to the victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. In Rezidor’s name and in honour of Carlson’s 75th anniversary, the Carlson Family Foundation added additional EUR 6,500 to the donation and increased it to a total of EUR 66,500.

“More than 1,000 of our team members across EMEA are from the Philippines, and we want to show that our thoughts are with them and the victims of typhoon Haiyan. Through creative fundraising events during the festive season, our hotels and offices have collected an important sum – such funds are much needed in the Philippines to help the people and to rebuild homes and infrastructure”, said Wolfgang M. Neumann, President & CEO of Rezidor.

Rezidor’s Radisson Blu, Park Inn by Radisson and Hotel Missoni properties launched fundraisings for the Philippines, organized charity concerts, sold Christmas baubles with personal wishes, and auctioned designer furniture. Donations in kind made an additional impact: Hotels in Dubai, Muscat and Doha sent 100 boxes filled with 6,000 kg of clothing and dry food to the victims of typhoon Haiyan.
