(PRESS RELEASE) BANGKOK, 2025-Apr-29 — /Travel PR News/ — The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is excited to announce a new partnership with CrescentRating, a leading Singapore-based research organization specializing in Halal-friendly travel. The collaboration, marked by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), will produce the highly anticipated Halal Travel Trends 2025 report, developed in collaboration with Mastercard. This partnership aims to advance the understanding and engagement with the rapidly growing Muslim-friendly travel sector.
“At PATA, we recognize the significant potential of the Muslim-friendly travel sector, which remains largely untapped. With the increasing global Muslim population and their growing economic influence, this market offers tremendous opportunities for destinations and travel businesses across the world,” said PATA CEO Noor Ahmad Hamid.
He added, “The Halal Travel Trends 2025 report is crucial in providing destinations and travel providers with the insights needed to better cater to this discerning demographic. The comprehensive analysis of the demands and behaviors of Muslim travelers will help refine offerings and foster a more inclusive travel environment. We are excited to collaborate with CrescentRating, one of our valued members, to bring this important research to life.”
The Halal Travel Trends 2025 report was officially launched during the PATA Annual Summit 2025 (PAS 2025) at the session titled “Halal Travel Frontier 2025: What Destinations Need to Know Now.” During the session, Mr. Bahardeen shared key insights from the report.
“This partnership with PATA comes at a pivotal time. As the travel landscape evolves, driven by changing demographics and values, the Halal Travel Trends 2025 report provides a timely perspective on the preferences and priorities of Muslim travelers,” said Fazal Bahardeen, Founder and CEO of CrescentRating. “It’s not just about the destinations they choose, but about how they travel—with purpose, inclusivity, and authenticity.”
Fazal further explained that the report is based on CrescentRating’s RIDA Framework, which emphasizes Responsible, Immersive, Digital, and Assured experiences. “This framework helps destinations and service providers align their offerings with the values and lifestyles of today’s Muslim travelers,” he said.
The partnership was formally recognized during an on-stage certificate presentation at PAS 2025 on April 23.
