(NEWS) BETHESDA, MD, 2026-Jan-9 — /Travel PR News/ — Marriott Bonvoy has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership with the International Cricket Council, becoming the Official Accommodation Partner for ICC events through to 2029. The agreement brings together global cricket and hospitality, positioning Marriott Bonvoy’s worldwide hotel portfolio at the centre of major international tournaments over the next four years.
The partnership covers all upcoming ICC Men’s events, including tournaments hosted across Asia, Africa, Europe and Oceania. These range from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka in 2026 to World Test Championship finals in the United Kingdom and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup across southern Africa. As outlined in the company’s official announcement, the collaboration is designed to support teams, fans and travelling supporters with access to accommodation across markets where ICC events take place.
With more than 450 properties located in host destinations, Marriott International is positioned to serve both domestic and international travellers attending ICC fixtures. Fans will be able to stay across Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio when booking official travel packages through ICC Travel and Tours, while members of the loyalty programme will also gain access to curated experiences linked to major cricket events.
Cricket’s status as one of the world’s most-watched sports sits at the heart of the partnership. According to details shared in the press release, the collaboration aims to connect Marriott Bonvoy’s global membership with cricket’s estimated fan base of more than two billion people, blending live sporting moments with hospitality, travel and destination-led experiences. The two organisations also plan to develop on-site hospitality offerings at selected venues, alongside bespoke content and local activations tailored to key cricketing markets.
For Marriott Bonvoy, the agreement aligns with its broader strategy of connecting members to passions beyond travel alone. The partnership will focus particularly on markets where cricket has deep cultural roots, including India, Australia, New Zealand and Sri Lanka, while also reinforcing Marriott’s presence at globally significant sporting events. ICC officials, meanwhile, have highlighted the importance of lifestyle, travel and hospitality in shaping how fans experience tournaments that often involve long-distance travel across continents.
Based on official press updates from both organisations, Marriott Bonvoy and the ICC see the collaboration as a long-term platform for enhancing fan engagement, combining global sport with premium accommodation and travel experiences. The partnership reflects a growing trend within international sport to integrate hospitality and destination experiences as a core part of how fans engage with major events.
