(NEWS) MINNEAPOLIS, MN, 2026-Feb-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Navitaire, an Amadeus company, is expanding its partnership with Volotea as the European low-cost carrier adopts Navitaire Stratos, a next-generation retailing platform designed to modernize the airline’s booking and digital retail capabilities. The agreement marks another step in Volotea’s technology-driven strategy as airlines increasingly turn to artificial intelligence and cloud-based platforms to improve customer experience and operational flexibility.
As outlined in the companies’ latest announcement, Navitaire Stratos is a cloud-native digital retailing solution that uses artificial intelligence to support more personalized and flexible travel shopping. The platform introduces features such as dynamic offers, an integrated shopping-cart system, and expanded self-service tools intended to simplify the booking process and make it easier for travellers to plan and manage trips.
The new technology builds on a long-standing relationship between Navitaire and Volotea and accompanies an extension of the airline’s New Skies reservation system agreement. According to the companies, the platform will also improve operational efficiency through stronger connections with partner airlines and smoother integration with third-party services including car rental providers and hotel booking platforms.
The adoption of Navitaire Stratos is expected to provide Volotea with a scalable and resilient digital infrastructure that allows faster implementation of new features and improved responsiveness to shifting travel demand. The open architecture of the system is designed to support rapid innovation while helping the airline maintain a competitive position in the European low-cost market.
Founded in Barcelona in 2011, Volotea focuses on point-to-point services connecting small and medium-sized cities across Europe and North Africa. The investment in new retailing technology reflects the airline’s broader effort to refine its digital offering and align with evolving traveller expectations in an increasingly technology-driven aviation environment.
