The collaboration allows millions of members to earn and redeem rewards interchangeably, turning everyday shopping into opportunities for free hotel stays, upgrades, and exclusive experiences. Operating under the theme “Your Cart Takes You Places,” the alliance enables Marriott Bonvoy members to collect points while shopping on Flipkart, while Flipkart Plus members can convert SuperCoins into Marriott Bonvoy points for hotel bookings worldwide.
The initiative reflects a growing trend in India’s loyalty landscape, where cross-platform rewards are becoming central to consumer engagement. With Marriott’s 159 hotels across more than 40 cities in India, the partnership not only strengthens its connection with domestic travelers but also expands Flipkart’s appeal by embedding global travel rewards into its marketplace. John Toomey, Chief Commercial Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China at Marriott, emphasized that the partnership brings more value to members and will eventually expand to international destinations. Ranju Alex, Marriott’s Regional Vice President for South Asia, noted the collaboration comes at a time when India’s travel industry is experiencing phenomenal growth, while Flipkart’s Head of Travel, Manjari Singhal, highlighted how the program enriches lifestyles by linking shopping, travel, and stays into one unified rewards ecosystem.
Marriott Bonvoy is expanding its lifestyle-driven loyalty initiatives with new consumer experiences, including Marriott Bonvoy Week at Starbucks, where linked-account holders can earn points for coffee purchases and redeem them for exclusive rewards such as an intimate concert with rising artist Alex Warren in New York City, alongside sweepstakes and one-point drops through Marriott Bonvoy Moments. Complementing this, the brand has also launched Marriott Bonvoy Roulette, a digital game celebrating its milestone of one million U.S. rooms, offering members chances to win major prizes like one million points and a four-night stay at Canal House of Georgetown—further blending travel, music, and everyday moments into its global rewards ecosystem.
