Mandarin Oriental, Paris collaborates with French urban artist, Mambo to create new visual identity for the hotel cake shop

Hong Kong, 2015-7-22 — /Travel PR News/ — Mandarin Oriental, Paris is delighted to announce its latest collaboration with French urban artist, Mambo. The artist will create a new visual identity for the hotel cake shop and exhibit specially commissioned paintings in the lobby from September.

A self-taught artist, Mambo uses his own graphic language to illustrate the human psyche, with emotions, memories, dreams and inner feelings revealed through visual enigmas. Mandarin Oriental, Paris first collaborated with Mambo for its J’aime la Mode event in 2013 and then for a party to celebrate the hotel gaining 20,000 Facebook fans, in 2014, when he painted illustrations on lobby windows.

The Mambo-redesigned Mandarin Cake Shop will be revealed this coming September, together with limited edition pastry boxes, bags and cups created by the artist. In addition to pastries, cannelés and macarons, the cake shop, open daily from 7am to 8pm, will serve cakes representing the four seasons specially made by pastry chef, Pierre Mathieu in collaboration with Mambo. Their new sweet delights will include the ‘220 volts’ cake made with passion fruit and sesame, priced EUR 8 for take-away or EUR 15 at Camelia.

Offering take-away breakfast, daily, from 7am to 11 am, the cake shop will serve a large selection of coffees and teas in elegant cups designed by Mambo, including traditional ‘espresso’, ‘choco-cookie macchiato’, ‘smooth tiramisu coffee’ and iced coffees, such as ‘Raspberry Iced Macchiato’, all priced at EUR 6. Other breakfast delights will include fresh fruit juices, lactose-free smoothies, homemade viennoiseries and gluten-free muffins.

In addition, guests will have an opportunity to view Mambo artworks specially painted for the hotel. The artist will exhibit four paintings at the hotel entrance, inspired by the colours, cool elegance and contemporary design of Mandarin Oriental, Paris.
