Maldives, 2014-04-7 — /Travel PR News/ — Maldives wins the award for the Best Honeymoon Destination (World) by Reader’s Choice of the Travel + Leisure India & South Asia Magazine’s India’s Best Awards 2013. The award was received by the Maldives High Commissioner to India, Mr. Abdulla Naseer at a ceremony held on 31st March 2014, at the Durbar, Taj Palace, New Delhi.
The TAJ Group owned property, Taj Exotica Resort & Spa Maldives also claimed the runner up for the Best Spa Destination.
The most number of Indian visitors chose Maldives for their honeymoon, inspired by the beautiful beaches, privacy and peacefulness. At the end of year 2013, Maldives received a total of 38,014 tourists from India. Maldives expects to increase this number by 5% this year. India is the seventh largest source market to the Maldives.
