Airline launches junior panel to create new children’s on-board menu
LEEDS, 2014-7-24 — /Travel PR News/ — Children from Yorkshire are being given the chance to join a national tasting panel to help design Monarch Airlines’ new range of children’s on-board meals.
Monarch, which flies out of Leeds Bradford airport, and its on-board partner Alpha LSG are calling on local children to enter its ‘Fly My Meal’ competition, the winners of which will have their say on Monarch’s new kids’ in-flight menu.
The competition calls on children local to each of Monarch’s six UK bases to submit a photo of themselves holding a handwritten description or drawing of their favourite meal.
Two children from each region will be chosen to attend an official tasting session at Spitfire House in London on Wednesday 13th August. There, they will taste-test a shortlist of dishes created by Alpha LSG’s head chef Carl Jones from competition entries nationwide, before deciding the final menus for Monarch’s on-board meals served to over 19,000 children every year.
Tim Williamson, Director of Customer Experience & Marketing at Monarch Airlines said: “We pride ourselves on our commitment to outstanding service and listening to our customers in order to provide a superior customer experience, and we want to ensure this extends to even our youngest of customers too.
“As the only airline in our category which offers a full hot meal service on-board, what better way to make sure our youngest customers enjoy their in-flight meal than by getting them involved in the menu development process?
“There are big decisions to be made as the panel will be deciding the menus for our young travellers to tuck into from this autumn. We are sure that the children’s involvement will result in a truly delicious range of dishes that reflect the firm favourites they enjoy at home.”
