Passenger boardings at KCI were down 10.4 percent, with a total of 377,984 during September. “The decreases in passenger statistics relate to decreases in monthly airline departures and available seats in the market,” said Tom McKenna, assistant director of aviation – marketing for the Aviation Department. “This trend began in the summer and should continue for the next few months and should move upward again in spring 2013.”

Air cargo tonnages, which consist of both freight and mail transported by air, for all carriers at KCI were up 1.5 percent in September. For the year to date, air cargo at KCI is up 2.4 percent from the same period last year.
