LAS VEGAS, NV, 2016-Sep-12 — /Travel PR News/ — Allegiant (NASDAQ: ALGT) today announced the appointment of John Redmond as the company’s president. A former president and chief executive officer of MGM Grand Resorts, Redmond brings more than 30 years’ experience in executive management in the hospitality and leisure travel industry to the position. Redmond has also served for eight years as a member of Allegiant’s Board of Directors.

Redmond’s career in the hospitality industry spans three decades. He most recently served as managing director and chief executive officer of Echo Entertainment Group Ltd., a publicly-traded company based in Australia. He served as president and chief executive officer of MGM Grand Resorts LLC and a director of its parent company, MGM Mirage Inc., from 2001 to 2007. Prior to that, he served as a co-chief executive officer and a director forMGM Grand Inc., as well as various other executive level positions with MGM Grand Inc.
Prior to joining MGM Grand, Redmond held various senior level executive positions withCaesars World Inc.
In addition to Allegiant he currently serves on the Board of Directors of Vail Resorts Inc. He has previously served on the boards of Tropicana Las Vegas Hotel and Casino Inc. and Echo Entertainment Group Ltd.
Redmond was originally elected to Allegiant’s Board of Directors in 2007 and served untilJune 2013, when he resigned to assume a full-time commitment in Australia. He was once again designated to serve on the board in April 2014.
Redmond will assume the role of president, Allegiant Travel Company, effective Monday, September 12, and will lead the senior executive team including Chief Financial Officer Scott Sheldon, Chief Operating Officer Jude Bricker, and Chief Information Officer Scott Allard. Redmond will report to Allegiant Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr. He will continue to serve on the company’s Board of Directors.
